Nomination for Opus Klassik

My debut album Nature has been nominated for the Opus Klassik 2026 in the category Young Artist of the Year.

The Opus Klassik is considered Germany’s most prestigious award for classical music, and receiving this nomination is a great honour. Above all, it is a recognition of a project that was only made possible through the support and collaboration of many people. I would therefore like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped bring it to life: the supporters of the crowdfunding campaign, the musicians, my label GENUIN, and the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation (BR).

The transience and ephemerality of music – the feeling of creating a work of art on stage that exists only in that very moment, in that particular space, together with the people around her – continue to fascinate Sophia Schambeck. The connection with her audience is especially important to her.

In search of new ways to make music an immersive experience, she experiments on international stages – including the Beethovenfest Bonn, the Südtirol Festival Meran (IT), and the Thüringer Bachwochen – with innovative concert formats, electronics, and improvisation.

Her artistic achievements have received numerous awards, among them the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize. In 2025 she released her debut album “Nature”, produced in collaboration with BR-Klassik and the label Genuin.

Die Flüchtigkeit und Vergänglichkeit der Musik – das Gefühl, auf der Bühne ein Kunstwerk zu erschaffen, das nur in diesem Moment und Raum, mit den Menschen um sie herum, entsteht und existiert – faszinieren Sophia Schambeck immer wieder aufs Neue. Der Kontakt zum Publikum ist ihr besonders wichtig. Auf der Suche nach neuen Wegen, Musik erlebbar zu machen, experimentiert sie auf internationalen Bühnen – etwa beim Beethovenfest Bonn, dem Südtirol Festival Meran (IT) oder den Thüringer Bachwochen – mit innovativen Konzertformaten, Elektronik und Improvisation. Ihr künstlerisches Schaffen wurde vielfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. mit dem Byerischen Kunstförderpreis. 2025 erschien ihr Debutalbum "Nature" in Kooperation mit BR-Klassik und dem Label Genuin.
